Monsters of Nairu is the second expansion to Mythica Gaming's flagship fantasy strategy board game, Legends of Draxia. This expansion brings semi-cooperative action to Legends of Draxia as players will work together to defeat the terrifying Boss Monsters that have overrun the mountains and deserts of Nairu.
In addition to the Boss Monsters, Monsters of Nairu introduces a new Mercenary card type, enabling players to contract elfin warriors and archers to assist in the battle. The expansion also adds two new Heroes, the Moon Elf Chieftan and Sun Elf Huntress, to help lead the charge.
*The Monsters of Nairu expansion requires the original Legends of Draxia base game (sold separately) for play.

Fighting monsters has always been a key element of Legends of Draxia, but Monsters of Nairu raises the fight to a whole new level. When Boss Monsters enter play, they can persist on the board for multiple rounds, modifying the game rules until they are killed. So you better kill them fast! Boss Monsters are so imposing, even their cards are bigger!
As if giant-sized Boss Monsters weren't enough extra game play, Monsters of Nairu also adds a new Mercenaries card deck which brings additional strategies for winning a Legends of Draxia game. Mercenaries are one-time-use producers of bows and/or swords needed to defeat Monsters. Mercenaries also provide Victory Points for the player who hires them.

No, you will need the Legends of Draxia base game to play the Monsters of Nairu expansion set. You can find Legends of Draxia in the Mythica Gaming store.

When did the game come out?
The Legends of Draxia base game was first released in 2015. The Monsters of Nairu expansion was released in 2022.
How many players does the game support?
The game is designed for 2 to 6 players. However, if you want to play more than 6 players, you can take two games, smash them together and play up to 10 people!
What’s the age range?
We recommend ages 10 and up. However, we have had children as young as 7 successfully play the game.
How long does it take to learn and play?
Monsters of Nairu is best added to the Legends of Draxia base game after a few plays of the base game alone. Learning the additional rules for Monsters of Nairu only takes 5 to 10 minutes. Mastering it can take months of repeated plays! An average game takes about 60 to 90 minutes depending on the number of players and their level of gaming experience. Playing the Corrupted Mana and Monsters of Nairu expansions together will ramp up the game play to 2+ hours.
Are there any other game expansions?
There are currently 2 expansions: Corrupted Mana, which adds PvP interactions, and Monsters of Nairu, which adds a semi-cooperative element. We are planning 2 more expansions which will add additional game play variation. All the expansions can be played singly with the base game, or together with other expansions and the base game.
